Cross Country - XC Bikes
If you’re looking to tackle tough climbs, speed through rolling terrain and make all your friends feel weak, you’ve come to the right place. XC bikes are lightweight trail machines designed for speed.
Full suspension cross country bikes usually weigh in around 20-25lbs, with head tube angles around 68-70° Steeper head tubes make the handling quick and snappy while keeping your weight more forward for a better climbing position. For the same reason, a steeper head tube angle will also make the bike feel less confident on the descents. Being shown out the front door is the last thing you want to have happen.
XC bikes won’t be your top choice if your passion is riding difficult and technical descents at speed. If that’s more your style, check out the TRAIL or ENDURO bikes pages.
Do your favorite trails look like this?
XC bikes excel in smoother, rolling terrain and steep technical climbs. Things like lightweight, fast-rolling tires make XC bikes quick on smooth trails. Less travel also means the bike will be more efficient with less pedal bob.
